Gareth Hughes is Senior Designer at the global ideas & innovation agency AKQA, in London

After graduating with first class honours in Graphic Design, he joined Manchester's leading agency in interactive design and innovation, mN. Over three years Gareth designed for The Co-operative, Arup, Channel 4, Reuters and The BBC. A highlight achievement here, being part of the team to design BBC Sport and Olympics mobile.

Gareth has collaborated on side projects to tell stories outside the boundaries of interactive design. In 2012 Gareth directed and scored Gloam, a short animated film which received overwhelming reception and earned a Vimeo Staff Pick award.

At the start of Gareth's design career, he released 2‐Sugars, a simple utility iPhone app which Stephen Fry praised as “a neat idea that's very elegantly and charmingly implemented”.

This year, Gareth aims to continue AKQA's gold standard record of digital creativity and innovation.
