Gareth Hughes is a
Senior Designer at AKQA
After graduating with first class honours in Graphic Design, I joined Manchester's leading agency in interactive innovation, mN. Over three years I designed for The Co-operative, Arup, Channel 4, Reuters and was part of the team who brought the award winning BBC Sport to mobile during the 2012 Olympics.
In 2014 I moved to London and joined AKQA where I focus on conceptual interactive design for new business as well as design lead on projects for Studio Canal, MaxiNutrition and Nike.
I have a tendency to collaborate on projects which tell stories outside the boundaries of interactive design. In 2012 I directed and scored Gloam, a short animated film which received overwhelming reception and earned a Vimeo Staff Pick award.
Shortly after graduating I released 2‐Sugars; a simple utility iPhone app which Stephen Fry praised as “a neat idea that's very elegantly and charmingly implemented”.
